Equipment :

- spatula
- wax putty
-latex/sealer
-moisturizer
- wound filler
-fake blood
-proshield
-hairdryer
- foundation brush
-kryolan pallet

Health and safety
- make sure the client Is not allergic to any products using
- if your client is allergic to latex use sealer as a replacement
- if your client is unsure whether they are allergic to latex using a cotton bud apply a small amount to a small amount to the area in order to test the product if the latex causes burning or itching to the skin remove immediately under cold running water.
- When using a spatula to create a cut on the clients skin be cautious not to hurt the client .

Technique
- Using wax putty apply to the back of your hand in order to warm up the product this will make the wax easier to use.
- Then apply the wax to the area on your client for example the arm and small out the wax using a spatula. Make sure the wax is evenly spread across the area and the edges are smoothed into the skin this will make the wound seem more lifelike.
- Using a small amount of moisturizer apply to the edges of the wax this will help to smooth out the edges of the wax.
-next shake the bottle of latex well before using then pour into a small bowl and reapply the lid.
-then apply latex over the wax . you must carry this process out a quite a fast pace as the latex starts to peel.
- Using the hairdryer at a cool temperature wave overtop of the latex until the product becomes clear.
-in order to make the wound seem more lifelike you are able to apply several layers of latex carrying out the same process.
- if your client is allergic to latex use sealing gel as a replacement and carry out the same process of drying the product with the hairdryer at a cool temperature.
-using your Kryolan foundation pallet and foundation brush apply the colour which best suits your clients skin to the wound and around the area .Make sure the foundation I blended in well.
- Apply wound filler to the inside of the cut.
-finally to finish of the wound apply fake blood to the cut.

-When removing the product it is easy to peel the wax off using the flat end of the spatula and then rinsing the latex off under running water.
- finally once you have removed the wax and latex apply proshield to the arm or a barrier cream.
Here is my first attempt at creating a cut although I was quite happy with the outcome, I feel I could have applied more moisturiser around the outside of the cut in order to dissolve the edges and for it to blend well into the skin.

Here is my second attempt at creating  a cut, I feel this time I applied the wax a little too thick to the area and in order for it to look more realistic I could have blended the wax better into the skin, and also used moisturiser in order to dissolve and rough edges.

In my own time after having several special effects technical lessons I created another wound. I was happy with the outcome and felt the wax and latex were blended into the skin well.

here is another attempt of mine at creating a wound I feel the outcome is a big improvement compared to my first attempt in my technical lesson, however I feel the wax and latex could have been blended into the skin better and the wax was applied slightly thick in some areas.

week 1 ageing the skin and creping

week I ageing the skin and creping

lesson summary: how to age the skin and creping the hands using latex.

Equipment

-cleanser
-toner
-moisturiser
- foundation pallet - kryolan
-foundation brush
-buffer brush
- supracolour pallet
-fine makeup brush
- tooth enamel -optional
- cotton buds
- mascara wand
- stipple sponge (black)
- latex
-hairdryer

health and safety

when removing the clients makeup using cleanser toner and moisturiser make sure the client is not allergic to any of these products.
Before applying any makeup products to the clients face make sure their not allergic to any.
when using latex it is important that you make sure the client is not chemically allergic to the product before applying latex to the area you will be working
on using a cotton bud applying a small swab of latex to the skin if the area starts to itch burn or go red remove immediately using running water.

Technique

firstly remove any makeup using cleanser toner and moisturiser.
Then apply a foundation base from the kryolan foundation pallet which is optional to the ears neck and face make sure the product is blended into the face using the buffer
brush.
next using the supracolour pallet mix green yellow and red together in order to get a brown colour which will be applied to any visual lines on the face. If the colour
is too light applying black or blue will make the colour darker.
apply the brown colour to any visible lines on the face and the cheekbones  temple area neck and blend the colour into the lines using your fingers.
next using a stipple sponge and a red from the supracolour pallet apply colour to the cheeks and nose. this will appear as broken veins.
finally to complete the look using a white and yellow from the supracolour pallet and mascara wand apply colour to the eyebrows in order to make the eyebrows
look more rough apply the colour to the eyebrows by brushing the hairs the opposite direction.

Applying latex -creping the skin

Before applying any latex to the skin ake sure the client is not allergic. If the client skin becomes red or itchy remove the product immediately under cold running water.  Before using latex on the clients test the latex on a small area of skin using a cotton bud, if the clients skin becomes red or itchy do not use the product.
Apply proshield to the skin before using latex , by applying proshield or barrier cream to the area this will reduce the any redness caused by the latex, a barrier cream is a suitable product to apply to those with sensitive skin when using latex .
pour a small amount of latex to the bowl and put the lid back on th bottle due to strong aroma and to avoid any spillages.
using a sponge feather the latex to the skin make sure before aplying latex to the skin you stretch the skin and hold it in place.
using a hairdryer wave upon the area where the  latex is situated in order for it to dry before applying the hairdryer to the latex make sure the appliance is at the right heat, which is usually set at a cool temperature.
Once the latex has dried clear this means the product is finally dry.
Once the latex is dry keep applying layers using the same process the more latex you apply .

Overall I was unhappy with the final outcome of my theatrical Ageing makeup due to the lack of time to create the look . I also felt I could have blended the products in better to the skin and perhaps used a lighter colour on the visible lines in order for it to look more realistic and blend properly.

In m own time I had another attempt at theatrical ageing makeup and felt the outcome of was much better than the second one this may have been due to applying a foundation base to the skin before applying the visible lines using the supracolour.
Here is my first attempt at creping the skin although the skin appears more wrinkled and age I was unhappy with the result due to the latex peeling.

Here is my second attempt at creping the skin, this time the latex blended in better to the skin and didn't peel which was an improve, the creping however was more noticeable off camera, I feel in order to improve the creping of the skin on my second attempt I could have applied more layers of the latex.
